Nuchal Translucency Scan

Risk assessment for Down’s screening (11-14 weeks).

Purpose of scan - Risk assessment for Downs syndrome. To confirm fetal heartbeat present & give ultrasound due date.

Pregnancy is dated by measurement of crown rump length (CRL).

Fluid present behind fetal neck is measured (Nuchal translucency).

Basic fetal anatomy check carried out.

The risk of Downs syndrome calculated by combining various factors including:

  • CRL
  • Nuchal translucency
  • Mother’s age
  • Mother’s height and weight

 

Price includes: All preganancy scans including thermal images and a CD in PC format at no extra cost (Short moving clips included).

Combined Nuchal Translucency

This scan is the same as the above, with the addition of a blood test to increase sensitivity of the result. As recommended by the Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme (FASP).
